I understand completely. I've been pretty busy with school this last week and will be gone through the weekend, but hopefully once I get my papers out of the way school won't be such an issue.
According to my Japanese friend, the original version of Fatal Frame never states that it is based on a true story XD She thinks it was probably inspired by a serious of murders where people were found with rope marks out in the woods, but "Himuro" is apparently a common last name over XD I buy a lot of stuff online, but I'm also very picky about who I buy from. The one time I wasn't I got ripped off (NEVER buy from AllAnimeDVD.com >_<).
I normally don't do sidequests my first time through, but I'll go back later and attempt them. It gives me something to look forward to when I replay a game. I really like games with alternate endings too :) I can't think of that many horror games with "scary" endings... They're normally just depressing if you get the bad ending and a relief if you get the good ending. Except for Silent Hill 2 & 5... Their endings range from [depressing] to [funny] to [what-tha?].
Kei was probably the one person I did not want to die under any circumstances in Fatal Frame, since he was the only one that was trying to live. I adored all of the girls, but they each made their choices to follow the dead, so while I was sad I wasn't as upset with them. I do think Miku deserved a better end to her final chapter if you choose not to follow Mafuyu... it was kind of "eh..." I never really felt like she wanted to die to be with Mafuyu so much as just see him again, but maybe I feel that way because I'm close to my older brother too. I guess people do stupid things when it comes to someone they care about :(
lol, I can't read hardly anything Japanese, and I can only pick out a few spoken words. My Brother isn't fluent with Japanese yet, but he knows enough to get by over there (he's teaching English to elementary students :). I generally play games late at night, so I'm not disrupting "daily life" in their eyes, and I don't play games like Grand Theft Auto. The only "indecent" games I play are scary ones, so they don't bother me about it since I play them in my room. I've actually gotten my mother to watch a little bit of my games before (I'm trying to get her to watch me play Fatal Frame, since she likes supernatural movies). Your English is very good, btw :) (Mine not so much... and my mother is an English Major XD). I'm looking for a part-time job, because my funds from the last job I had are running low T-T Between College and my dying Car I've spent a lot of my savings and am still dependent on my parents. I try to make up for it by helping out around the house, atleast.
Yeah, the analog stick is dead, and when I press the D-Pad, it gets stuck. I'm going to have to suck it up and open up my PSP to fix it >_< Scary....

You can miss important pieces of story in horror games when you don't explore, since a lot of that can come from journals and such that you pick up. I can't even unlock hard mode to get the other Fatal Frame 1 ending... it's hard. That's the only game where I'm almost done with the ghost list, too o_o I figure the extra endings aren't on the PS2 version because the director's cuts came later, they probably wanted to use them for promotional purposes.I have the director's cuts of the games, but I actually do not own an Xbox yet (I'm savin' up for an xbox360!). I found them practically new at a game store before they stopped selling xbox titles, and I didn't want to risk not being able to find them again.
I think I would like Siren's approach better if it had many, many endings that you could get to depending on the order you do missions in, how you solve them, etc.. but it doesn't. It's a cool approach the first time, but I'm like you after that... I'd rather not jump through hoops trying to see the storyline again, so I may never replay it after this. The Remake is straightforward, so I could handle that again.
The only ending that really upset me the first time was FF3's... I mean, I'm glad that Miku and Rei survived, but why the heck did Kei have to XD Fatal Frame has a habit of killing off all of the smexy men T-T And Mio made me sad, too, but in a way, she chose to die...Kei was the only person in the game trying to LIVE the whole time.
My brother's actually teaching kids English in Japan right now ^^ His Japanese is good enough to get by, but he doesn't want to play FF4 until he's confident he can understand most of it. My parents are pretty cool about me playing games at my age because they are aware of what I play and that it's not kids stuff, and since my younger sister likes them it's something we have in common. As long as I don't put games of a social life (which I don't do anyways), they don't care. But at my age I wouldn't ask them to buy me a system because they are expensive and I'd feel guilty... I know how tight money gets. But that reminds me, I have to fix my stupid PSP analog stick T-T It's broken of something.

That's cool. I'll go ahead and add you. I also have the same screen name :) It was commenting on how I used a "Christian cemetery" in the background of my Gundam 00 wallpaper, and while I'm not sure they meant it to be that way it just came of kind of snarky and unnecessary. But after mulling it over some I decided it's probably not worth answering, though if it had been outright rude I might have slapped him back XD I understand about the homework! I feel like if I can survive through Monday then I can survive anything.- -_- I hate vectoring lines, too. Even though it's not normally hard, it's time consuming and takes little creativity... I guess that's part of why I do a lot of photo-manipulation. But today should be swell, since I finished my take home midterm that has been eating up my life :D

I don't think the story in Star Ocean 3 is lame per say, I just got annoyed with the discrepancies between disk one and two , but it's so much fun to play it's still one of my favorite games. I feel like that about the food, too! I always want the banana split thing that pops up (it looks so yummy!).
I'm always faster playing games at my cousin's house, because I'm so limited in time. When I play it at home I spend longer just because I love to explore everything :) And yes, Fatal Frame 1 is definitely the hardest overall, though I thought Reika was the hardest boss. I need to try FF3 on hard mode next time (haven't even unlocked it on the first game). :)
If you have no patience, Siren is not the game to play XD I actually hit one mission early in the game and I got so annoyed with it I put the game down for almost 2 years... But ever since I came back to it it hasn't been quite that bad. The original Siren actually isn't that bloody. There are areas that have water that looks like blood, but it's not really that gross.The Remake can be rather violent in places (and the language is terrible -_-).
I want to play Fatal Frame 4 really bad, but I can't read of speak Japanese ;-; Maybe I'll get my brother to play it for me when he gets back from Japan, since he has a Japanese wii now, too :)
The XBox versions of Fatal Frame 1 & 2 are director's cuts, so they each have an extra ending after you beat the game on it's hardest setting, and they added another hard setting to both of them (2's last setting on the xbox is "Fatal Mode", I think), making the first two games have 3 endings. I've been avoiding watching the best ending on youtube because I want to see it when I beat the game on that setting! I think it will lessen the reward if I see it before then, so I've been careful not to spoil it for myself :)

Slowly but surely I'm trying to add to the number of Fatal Frame wallpapers out there ^_~
I think the only game I play a lot and love that doesn't have a particularly good storyline is Star Ocean 3, but the gameplay is ridiculously fun so I can overlook the games cavernous plot-holes XD My cousin's like you... She wants to see the storyline of scary games but she can't bring herself to play them, though she got through a couple of chapters of Fatal Frame II before she lost the will. I normally play them so she can watch, and it benefits me because I have an itty-bitty TV whereas she has a huge HDTV at her house <3 I think on average I can beat a scary game at her house in two nights (ONLY playing at night, not during the day!), the only exceptions so far being Fatal Frame 3 and Siren: Blood Curse. And the original Siren, well... I'm not playing that from start to finish again (even after I eventually finish it, which has yet to happen... after 3 years of widdling away at it... bur).
Siren is RIDICULOUSLY hard. I eventually got the hang of the controls, but I almost never finish a mission within 1 or two tries (normally somewhere between 3-10). It takes a lot of patience and skill just to get through a mission once, and then you have to replay it later to unlock more missions. This game requires such leet ninja stealth skills that they people in it could own anyone on Naruto o_o The remake was considerably easier until I hit the last episode, and I hit a point where it's suddenly extremely hard (so I haven't finished that either... bur) Granted, my cousin owns that because she has a PS3 and I don't, so I can't really practice on it.
I guess this is my other issue- I cannot ever bring myself to play a game on easy. I have to at least start on normal, and then I try out the harder difficulties after time. My brother would have made fun of me if I didn't, so now it's just what I do.
And if I type too much you can tell me to leave you alone o_o I would understand.

That makes sense XD It just threw me to see it like that for him. I've never really known what Caldina/Gardina/Kardina was supposed to be though, because it varies even from anime to manga. Maybe if I figure out which of those is a car name... = )

I really saw no point in changing it for 4 years because it was only 50x50 until recently. Why bother? You can barely see them XD I might change it from time to time since they are bigger now.
After I make the spooky walls I think I'd like to make another wallpaper like the one I did with MIo in the garden, maybe use the other heroes and make it a daytime scene so it will be pretty :) I've already started the scary one for the contest so I hope it turns out okay, though people don't really care about photo-manipulation wallpapers anymore so I doubt they will even get noticed ;-;
While I don't like gore either I love the storylines most of them have, like in the Silent Hill games since they put so much emphasis on psychology and playing with your head. I actually have never beaten Resident Evil because I insist on playing them in order and the first one is hard XD And little by little I've been working on beating Siren (it's another Asian horror title), which is also extremely hard and frustrating. If you like the Japanese style you might like Kuon... it's not particularly hard and it's beautifully made, though it does have a few gross places. Maybe one day I will make a wallpaper for it :)

My feeling aren't hurt, but I have a rather low opinion of you now, if that makes a difference.
And quite frankly you can't be sorry or else you wouldn't have posted what you did in the first place, or if you later regretted it you would delete it. Such is not the case. Instead, you chose to write a rude and illogical remark about a character in the wallpaper rather than saying something useful. It's also dumbfounding that you would refer to a little girl who's portrayed as a sweet and innocent child with that kind of vulgar language. Your response was inappropriate and inconsiderate.

LOL I tend to stick with the blending/grunge/abstract style because while pop designs are clean and "cool," they are not very fun to make for me. I hate vectoring (and is too lazy to do difficult ones) and prefer to spend hours on blending techniques and lighting tricks I've learned/created over the years...

I hear you. I love photo-manipulation, but sadly it's like if it isn't vectored people don't seem to think it's good enough anymore. I pretty much only vector if I want to change the scan in some way, or want the character to be better quality. I get bored trying to vector a whole scan, though. Simply vectoring over a scan without messing with it in some way may take a lot of time, but it doesn't really seem to require any imagination :(
